A Story of Heart and Courage
This is a story of friendship. Otis doesn't always agree with or understand Manny, but he remains his friend. Manny finds friendship with a grandfather and a boy who share his love of baseball. Eventually, they include him in a game of catch. That shared interest builds a bridge to friendship.
"A Pelican in the Outfield" is a fun and worthwhile children's book. Manny is the delightful main character, and Manny loves baseball. He isn't concerned about what other pelicans are doing or what they think. Rather, Manny follows his heart, and it leads him to the ballpark where he can enjoy watching the game he loves. Young readers will definitely enjoy meeting Manny in the outfield.
